Treetops Newsletters

Every month, we put together a newsletter that is filled with all the things we did in the previous month with your child, as well as what is upcoming in the future. We will also email this to the parents to share as well.

If you have any ideas of things you would like to see in the newsletter, please feel free to let us know at montessoritreetops@gmail.com and we will do our best to include it.

September was a wonderful start to our school year! We enjoyed welcoming new and returning students while building strong classroom communities. Throughout the month, children explored important themes — from classroom rules and “All About Us” activities to Friendship Week and Fall Week. We also recognized Orange Shirt Day, honouring Indigenous cultures and learning about kindness, inclusion, and respect.

As we move into October, we’re excited to continue our Montessori journey with new themes and materials. Thank you for your continued support!

The November Treetops Montessori newsletter reflects on October’s fun learning themes—Thanksgiving, Apples and Pumpkins, Harvest and Farm Life, and Halloween celebrations. Families are reminded to update their contact and medical information to ensure accurate records. November introduces a new Open Snack Table, encouraging independence and social skills as children prepare and enjoy their own snacks during the morning work cycle.

The Treetops Montessori December newsletter highlights the children’s learning in November, including nature studies, biomes, hibernation, and colour-mixing activities. The school expresses pride in the students’ curiosity and excitement as they transition into December. We introduced a parent survey for optional contributions to the new classroom snack table, emphasizing that participation is voluntary and intended to enrich Practical Life activities and community engagement.

The newsletter includes the daily schedule for both morning and afternoon classes and outlines December’s special activities such as music, yoga, French lessons, and themed weekly learning—particularly the “7 Continents & People Around the World” and “Christmas” themes. Families are reminded about the Christmas concert on December 16th and that the school will be closed for winter break from December 22, 2025 to January 2, 2026.
